About Healing Path Acupuncture & Massage Therapy

“The mind and body are not separate. What affects one, affects the other.”

It is with this understanding that we prepare to embark upon the path towards healing. At Healing Path, our mission is to help our patients achieve health and a sense of well-being by integrating and balancing body, mind, and spirit. We believe that by treating patients holistically, we can do more than treat symptoms, but treat disease at its root causes. After attaining health, it is our goal to continue working with our patients to maintain their well-being and work to prevent further disease.

We specialize in whole body wellness, utilizing Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, and Massage Therapy. We aim to identify the best treatment methods for the patient’s specific health concern. We strive to make sure every treatment is personalized and meets the need of the individual.

“There is no greater honor or privilege than facilitating the process of healing for someone, to bear witness, to reach out a hand, to share the burden of someone suffering, and to hold the hope for their recovery.” – Eleanor Longden

Dr. Darsa L. Miller DACM, L.Ac, LMT

My name is Darsa Miller. I am an Acupuncturist and Herbalist with a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. I have been Board Certified by the NCCAOM and licensed by the Texas State Medical Board. I am also a licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Texas.

I began my journey in the healing arts at Avalon School of Massage in Houston, Texas. I became fascinated as I began to see the inter-connectedness of the human body and I observed its amazing capacity to heal. As I completed my studies in massage therapy, I began my own practice, helping many patients to find relief from the pain they were enduring. Through my experiences, I discovered that many of the aches and pains people felt stemmed from a deeper place than just muscles and joints. Neck and shoulder pain is often more than just bad posture; many patients recounted feeling like they carried the weight of the world on their shoulders. While many patients found relief after their massages, the pain would come back. It seemed until the weight was lifted, the pain would always return. With this epiphany, I became passionate about integrating healing of the body, mind, and spirit. I wanted to treat the whole person, not just one aspect of their pain and disease.

My pursuit of finding integrative, holistic treatments led me to the world of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). I began my studies at the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Houston, Texas where I pursued my Master’s and Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. As I studied TCM, I found it to be a practical, common sense form of medicine. The principal tenets of TCM hold that the body, mind, and spirit are interconnected. And when these factors become imbalanced, dis-ease arises. By treating all 3 aspects, one can facilitate the body’s amazing and innate ability to heal and re-balance itself. This holistic approach allows for healing at a deeper level, relieving not just the symptoms but the root cause of one’s ailments.

I truly believe that healing is a journey. Our experience upon this trek shapes us and make us stronger. My goal is to assist my patients on this expedition as we get closer to the goal of achieving health and a sense of well-being.

My name is Taylor Roy, I am an Acupuncturist & Herbalist with a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. I am NCCAOM Board Certified and licensed by the Texas State Medical Board.

I received my Master’s as well as my Doctorate in Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine from the prestigious American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Houston, Texas. During my studies, I was one of a select few participants able to participate in an externship in Sao Paulo, Brazil, at the country’s largest Chinese Medicine institution, EBRAMEC. I was also chosen by MD Anderson to observe their physician’s administer acupuncture in an integrative setting; in which they utilized acupuncture as a treatment for cancer patients with chemo-induced side effects.  I was elated to witness both Eastern and Western medical philosophies being utilized  in an integrative setting.

My inspiration behind my life long pursuit of holistic medicine began as a child. My mother is someone whose chronic illness has been one diagnosis after another. She has undergone treatment after treatment, prescription after prescription, and as a result, she has suffered more. From her struggles arose a compassion and determination within myself to do everything I can to help her and others in their journey to find well being. I am a strong believer that the body is capable of more than we think, and health is an achievable goal.

While I was interning at the ACAOM school clinic, I treated a wide array of ailments; everything from digestive issues to sports injuries. I felt a great sense of purpose when I made a difference in the lives of the patients I treated. During my internship, I discovered a passion for helping women with reproductive health and fertility. My heart went out to these women who wanted nothing more in the world than to have a child of their own. When a patient I had been seeing with PCOS became pregnant, I knew I had found my passion. I strongly believe that Traditional Chinese Medicine will help women conquer their fertility impairments, strengthen their body, and have healthier babies because of it. Whether you are pursuing western reproductive assistance, acupuncture, or a combination, I support you.

My name is Daniel Wukasch. I am a licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Texas.

The importance of helping others was instilled in me at a young age. My mother is a Registered Nurse and she taught me the value of having empathy and compassion for the people around me, especially those who are sick or injured. Growing up around a nurse, I learned many skills such as CPR, wound care, and how to check vitals, but most importantly, I discovered my passion for helping others. In high school I volunteered at nursing homes, worked for the Special Olympics, and fund-raised for Relay for Life. Those unique experiences enriched me in a way that cannot be fully described in words. Lending a hand to someone who is having a difficult time is a joy that fills the soul and stays with you.

After high school, my journey took me down a long and winding road, involving college, cross-country traveling, and a few career changes. Eventually, my passion for helping others led me to the Phoenix School of Massage in Houston, Texas. The instructors there taught me several modalities of massage and bodywork, including but not limited to: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Trigger Point Release, and Shiatsu. Their holistic approach to healing opened my eyes to the healing power of touch and how it is often a missing component in modern medicine.

Massage has been proven to lower heart rate and blood pressure, improve immune function, and reduce pain, in some cases reducing prescription drug use and averting surgery. I believe exercise coupled with stress-reducing services like massage and acupuncture, make it easier to avoid sickness and injury, as well as lower recovery times when you do fall ill or become injured. Whether you suffer from chronic pain, old sports injuries, post-surgical complications, PTSD, or post-partum pain, massage can aid in the recovery process.

My goal here at Healing Path, is to meet my clients where they are at and co-create healthcare solutions that are tailored to their needs and are achievable and workable in their day to day lives.

Amy Miller, LMT

My name is Amy Miller. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of Texas.

I began my time as a bodyworker back in 2010. I attended Elements of Wellness School of Massage in St Louis, Missouri. My life was changed. I have always enjoyed helping other people, but here was a way to bring rest, refreshment and wholeness  — to body, mind and spirit — as my patients took steps on their paths of healing.

During my initial education, I was introduced to CranioSacral Therapy ( CST ). I was very skeptical that a light-touch modality would be effective. I was shocked and surprised! And I wanted to learn more and bring this modality to more people. I pursued training through the Upledger Institute where I am a Teaching Assistant. CranioSacral Therapy uses a light touch to evaluate and enhance the functioning of the membranes and fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. CST releases the restrictions that cause dis-ease and help improve the functioning of the Central Nervous System and well as many other systems of the body. CranioSacral Therapy has a way of connecting the body, mind and spirit to facilitate the natural and innate healing processes of our bodies. Because of this, CST is a therapy that helps with Post Traumatic Stress, depression, anxiety and other somatic conditions.

I am also a Holy Yoga Therapy Certified Master instructor and a Registered Trauma Sensitive YogaFaith trainer. The YogaFaith Trauma Sensitive training has helped me to become more attuned to my patients and the little and big traumas that are a part of their lives.

My desire is to serve my patients with compassion and empathy, by creating trust and holding space for you as you journey on your   Healing Path.
